Sadie
19 students - 2 privates, 1 group each $2,850 + $1,140 = $3,990 per week, $15,960 per month
3 privates + 3 groups = $525 for her own lessons with Marla
Rent on house - $2,000
3 horses who are not leased = $3,600
$15,960 - $5,600 = $10,360
$510,000 after everything in sales of all of her other horses
Marla
Board for 70 horses = $84,000 a month
$1,200 Board Broken Down (approx.) $600 per horse for hay, grain, shavings $300 per employee pay $200 per utilities $100 for property maintenance/taxes
$21,000 for employees per month $14,000 for utilities $7,000 for property maintenance/taxes
9 students - 2 privates and 1 group each (add 5 group lessons as some students do lessons with their other horses) = $1,950
Rent for houses - $4,000
$21,000 for employees, 65% to 25 regular employees ($13,650), 35% to 2 managers ($7,350)
Jay, Sadie, Ben, and Sam are not on this payroll because they run their own lessons.
Ben
12 students at $45 each = $540 a week, $2,160 a month $2,000 for rent = $160
Both of his horses are full/half leased by a few of his students so he does not pay board.
“Is there something we don't know about you?” Blake asked, jokingly of course.
“He's a goalie. There isn't anything to know.” I told them, which was true. Goalies are one of the oddest creatures you'll ever meet.
